CAS:Ne-Trifluoroacetyl-L-lysine is a trifluoroacetylated lysine derivative. It is the first compound to inhibit the production of serum alanine aminotransferase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of amino acids to sugars. Ne-Trifluoroacetyl-L-lysine has been shown to be effective in animal models of chronic kidney disease and hepatitis. The compound inhibits the formation of disulfide bonds in proteins by binding to free sulfhydryl groups on cysteine residues. This inhibition prevents protein denaturation and subsequent liver damage.
