CAS:2,5-Dibromo-m-xylene is a brominated derivative of xylene. It is used as a solvent and intermediate in the production of other chemicals. 2,5-Dibromo-m-xylene is also used to produce polysubstituted benzenes through nitration and chlorination reactions. This chemical can be made by the reaction of m-xylene with nitric acid at low temperatures or by the reaction of benzene with sodium nitrite in ether at high temperatures. The product can be further reacted with hydrochloric acid or thionyl chloride to form a dichlorobenzene derivative. Nitration of 2,5-dibromo-m-xylene produces bisbenzyl derivatives, which are isomeric with those produced from 2,4,6-trichlorobenzene (2C3B). 2,5 Dibromo-m xylene can also beFormula:C8H8Br2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Solidified MassMolecular weight:263.96 g/molRef: 3D-FD00398
