Amyl Nitrate
CAS:Amyl nitrate is a vasodilator that is used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It may be used as an emergency treatment for heart attacks and angina, or it may be injected into the penis to help achieve an erection. This drug has a number of other uses, including as an organic solvent in the production of dyes and explosives. Amyl nitrate is also used to dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow in patients with chest pain. Nitrite ions react with hemoglobin in red blood cells to form methemoglobin (met-Hb) which cannot bind oxygen. This prevents the formation of oxygen-carrying molecules that are needed for cellular respiration, causing a lack of energy in cells. The reaction product can cause drug reactions, most often rashes or generalized allergic reactions. The particles can cause lung problems such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema if inhaled.Formula:C5H11NO3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:133.15 g/molAmyl Nitrate
