(3,6-Dihydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)boronic acid

3,6-Dihydro-2H-pyran-4-boronicacid is a palladium complex that is used as an industrial reagent for the synthesis of esters. This compound has been shown to react with alkenes, such as pinacol ester, by elimination of methane and ammonia to form a ketone. 3,6-Dihydro-2H-pyran-4-boronicacid also reacts with Grignard reagents to form a trialkylamine. The product can be purified by recrystallization in ethanol. Large quantities of this compound are needed in the production of pharmaceuticals.
