2-Ethylpyrrolidine
CAS:2-Ethylpyrrolidine is a colorless liquid that is unreactive and has no functional groups. It is a reuptake inhibitor that binds to the neurotransmitter transporter site, thereby preventing the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine. This drug also exhibits inhibitory properties against transport, which may be due to its ability to bind to an azide as well as an alkyne group. 2-Ethylpyrrolidine is synthesized by reacting 2-ethylpyrrole with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid in the presence of a base such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. The c-h bond on the pyrrole ring reacts with the sulfonic acid, forming an imine that attacks the carbonyl carbon on the pyrrole ring, forming a double bond between the two rings. The final product is 2-ethylpyrrolidine (2EP).Formula:C6H13NPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:99.17 g/molRef: 3D-FE123964
