CAS:3-Methyl-2-pyridone is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of pyridine nucleotides. It is activated by intramolecular hydrogen and water molecule, which are released during the enzymatic decarboxylation of 3-methyl-2-pyridone to form a reactive imine group. This group then reacts with a carboxylic acid group to form an amide. 3-Methyl-2-pyridone also has a hydrophobic tail that stabilizes the enzyme complex by reducing Coulombic repulsion. The genetic factors that influence the activity of this enzyme include polymorphisms in the gene encoding for HADH and HMGCS1, as well as mutations in the gene encoding for SLC25A1.Formula:C6H7NOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:109.13 g/molRef: 3D-FM15492
