Acridine Orange
CAS:Fluorescent stain for nucleic acids. An RNA polymerase inhibitorAcridine Orange acts as a lysosomal dye. It is used for cell-cycle studies. It plays an important role as a nucleic acid-selective fluorescent cationic dye, which is useful for cell cycle determination. Further, it serves as an inhibitor of RNA polymerase. CAS:Acridine orange is a fluorescent dye that is used as a biological stain. It binds to DNA and stains the cells it has bound to, making them more visible under an ultraviolet light. This dye also produces kinetic data on the micronucleus test in mice and rats. Acridine orange can be used to detect genotoxic effects in animals and humans, such as genetic damage or cancer. Kinetic studies have shown statistically significant increases in plasma mass spectrometry, but no significant changes in erythrosine uptake were observed. Acridine orange has been shown to cause genotoxic effects on brain cells and testicular cells.Formula:C17H20ClN3ZnCl2Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:369.96 g/mol
