2,8-Dimethylanthradithiophene is an isomer of anthradithiophene. It has been the subject of a number of studies for its use as a transistor material in electronics and as an electrochemical material. The compound can be synthesized by the reaction of 2-chloro-5,6-dimethylanthraquinone with thiourea in sulfuric acid solution. The compound has also been shown to exhibit UV-vis absorption properties.
