2-Acetylanthracene
CAS:2-Acetylanthracene is a monomer that can be polymerized to form polymers. It is the acetylated form of anthracene and has been shown to react with chloride ions to produce an enhancement in fluorescence. 2-Acetylanthracene is a supramolecular compound, meaning it has properties outside the realm of traditional organic chemistry. This compound also reacts with different types of molecules, including adenine base, and forms supramolecular complexes. The supramolecular complexes emit light when excited by electromagnetic radiation. 2-Acetylanthracene has been used as molecular probes for studies on the interactions of chloride ions with DNA and RNA molecules. This molecule also exhibits luminescence when excited by electromagnetic radiation at nmr frequencies.Formula:C16H12OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:220.27 g/molRef: 3D-FA17108
