CAS:4,7-Bis(5-trimethylstannyl-2-thienyl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole is a synthetic acceptor in solar cells. It has been shown to have a broad absorption spectrum and can be used as a monomer for polymerization. The FTIR spectra of the product show a strong peak at 1750 cm−1 that indicates the presence of an unreacted thienyl group. 4,7-Bis(5-trimethylstannyl-2-thienyl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole is insoluble in organic solvents and therefore cannot be purified by recrystallization or solvent extraction.
