CAS:N-Phenylglycine is a non-competitive antagonist of the H1 receptor that blocks histamine binding to its receptors. It has been shown to inhibit coughs in a chronic cough model, and is also able to suppress locomotor activity and reduce the body temperature in vivo. N-Phenylglycine has been shown to have no effect on brain function. It may be used as an inhibitor for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique.
