CAS:N-Benzylmethylamine is an organic amine that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in rats. The inhibition of cell proliferation was due to the binding of N-benzylmethylamine to the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) and the activation of the AHR-dependent signaling pathway. This binding led to a decrease in the expression of genes involved in cell cycle progression, such as cyclin D1 and cdk4. N-Benzylmethylamine also caused DNA damage and inhibited tumor growth by inducing apoptosis.
