    Controlled Product
    CAS:
Shionone is a model system for pharmacokinetic properties, which is used to study the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs. It is also used in the treatment of infectious diseases. Shionone has been shown to cause cell lysis by attacking hydroxyl groups on cellular proteins. This compound is found in Rhizoma Gastrodiae and Curcuma aromatica, which are natural compounds. Shionone has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties that are due to its structural similarity with protocatechuic acid and angelicae dahuricae. Preparative hplc was used for the separation of this compound from other components.
