Lupeol caffeate is a natural product that has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against bone resorption. It has been shown to be potent in vitro studies on bone cells, and inhibits the formation of osteoclasts by preventing the differentiation of pre-osteoclasts into mature osteoclasts. Lupeol caffeate also inhibits the production of butanol and an acid resistant to tartrate, which are involved in bone resorption. This product also exhibits potent inhibitory activity against cancer cell lines (in vitro). Lupeol caffeate may be useful for treating or preventing diseases related to bone resorption such as osteoporosis and cancer.

Lupeol caffeate has anti-malarial activity.
