Exametazime
CAS:Exametazime is a diagnostic agent used in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. It is a prodrug that is metabolized to its active form, examethasone, in the body. Exametazime can be used to assess disease activity and determine the need for treatment. The diagnostic use of this drug has been shown to be effective in both radiation-induced and chemotherapy-induced changes. Exametazime may also be useful in the treatment of brain damage caused by stroke or head injury. This drug has been found to possess anti-cancer properties, which have been demonstrated by its ability to inhibit tumor growth in rats.
