CAS:The analytical method for 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid 1-(7-methyloctyl) ester is based on the extraction of the compound from a solid phase with a gas chromatograph. The extract is then injected into the gas chromatograph and separated by means of a column containing an adsorbent. The compounds are detected by flame ionization detectors or electron capture detectors. For this compound, the gas chromatographic column was coated with polyvinyl and fatty acid to improve sensitivity and selectivity. This method has been used in humans as well as CD-1 mice. It can also be used to measure phthalate levels in surface methodology experiments. Hydroxyl group levels are measured using solid phase microextraction techniques, which are found in matrix effect studies.
