It binds to the histone protein H2A, which leads to cell death by inhibiting DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. Boc-D-Lys-OH has shown significant anti-cancer activity in vitro and in vivo. It has been shown to be a good candidate for use as a chemotherapeutic drug due to its ability to induce apoptosis in cells with high levels of lysine, such as tumor cells.
