    CAS:
    1,3,2-Dioxathiane 2,2-dioxide is a new efficient method to synthesize vinylene. The reaction starts with the addition of potassium phosphate and carbonic acid to an organic solvent. This is followed by the addition of a nitrogen nucleophile that reacts with the 1,3,2-dioxathiane 2,2-dioxide. The reaction is completed by adding an additive and hydrolyzing the product in order to obtain vinylene. This process can be optimized by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to determine how long the reaction should take and at what temperature it should be carried out.
