    Boc-L-Cyclohexylglycine is a macrocyclic compound that has been shown to have an oral glucose lowering effect in rats. It was found to be more potent than the reference drug, glibenclamide, with a better pharmacokinetic profile. Boc-L-Cyclohexylglycine is not active against pancreatic serine proteases such as trypsin and chymotrypsin. It has been shown to depeptidize proteins and inhibit the activity of cellular serine proteases such as elastase and cathepsin G. In addition, it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
