CAS:3-Formyl-4-methylphenylboronic acid is a white crystalline compound that is soluble in organic solvents. It is used as a reagent for the synthesis of ketones, esters, and amides. 3-Formyl-4-methylphenylboronic acid can be prepared by the reaction of boron trifluoride with ethylene glycol in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid at room temperature. This product can be purified by recrystallization from ether or tetrahydrofuran and then converted to acetal derivatives such as methyl 3-(3-formyl-4-methylphenyl)propanoate. The large scale production of this compound requires magnesium, ethylene glycol, and p-toluenesulfonic acid.Formula:C8H9BO3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:163.97 g/mol(3-Formyl-4-methylphenyl)boronic acid
