CAS:Octane is a hydrocarbon that has eight carbon atoms and 18 hydrogen atoms. It is an important component of gasoline and is used as a solvent in the paint industry. Octane can be found in small amounts in crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products. The optimum concentration for octane is about 60%. Octane has nitrogen atoms that help to lower the boiling point of water vapor by forming hydrogen bonds with the water molecules. Octane also has a constant boiling point under constant pressure. The analytical method for octane is done by extracting the sample from a liquid or solid phase with an organic solvent such as glycol ethers and then separating it using gas chromatography. The reaction mechanism of octane consists of three steps: 1) 2) 3)Formula:C8H18Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Clear LiquidMolecular weight:114.23 g/molASTM Method D5443 Hydrocarbon Test Mixture
