Bis(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)titaniumdichloride has been shown to produce cyclopropanecarboxylic acid when reacted with an appropriate catalyst, such as copper acetate. When bis(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)titanium dichloride reacts with styrene, it produces two isomers: cis-1,2-bis(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)titanium dichloride and trans-1,2-bis(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)titanium dichloride. The kinetic behavior of the reaction can be determined by measuring the rate of appearance of the products or their disappearance.
