Di(p-chlorophenyl) disulfide
CAS:Di(p-chlorophenyl) disulfide is a polymeric matrix that is used to treat infections of the skin and mucous membranes. It has antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Di(p-chlorophenyl) disulfide inhibits many enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of infectious agents and their cell walls, including amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, and enzyme inhibitors. The antimicrobial agent binds to both bacterial and mammalian cells by reacting with sulfhydryl groups on proteins.
