CAS:2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-4-carboxylic acid ee is a synthetic compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of benzoic acid. The hydroxyl group on the benzene ring is first fluorinated to give the 2,2-dimethyl ether. This ether is then chlorinated to give the chloro ether. The methyl ester of this chloroether can be prepared by hydrolysis of the chloroether with sodium hydroxide and acylated with acetic anhydride. The carbonyl group on the benzene ring can be reduced to give the carboxylic acid, which can then be converted into benzoic acid by reaction with potassium carbonate and hydrochloric acid.Formula:C6H10O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:146.14 g/mol
