    N-Cbz-L-tyrosine is a covalently modified amino acid that has been shown to be an effective protease inhibitor. The compound binds to the active site of enzymes, blocking their ability to hydrolyze proteins. In addition, N-Cbz-L-tyrosine has been shown to inhibit aminopeptidases and carboxypeptidases with IC50 values of 0.5 mM and 1 mM, respectively.
