CAS:2-Aminoanthraquinone is a dietary compound that inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting the synthesis of urea, which is an important nutrient for fungal cell growth. 2-Aminoanthraquinone has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as aliphatic hydrocarbon hydroxylase and nucleophilic attack by competitive inhibition. This chemical also has in vitro antifungal activity against Candida species and Penicillium species when used as a polymer film or topical treatment on animals.
