CAS:Maltol is a natural antioxidant that has been shown to have protective effects against oxidative injury in the bowel. Maltol provides protection by scavenging reactive oxygen species and free radicals. Maltol has also been shown to reduce the levels of growth factor-β1 (GF-β1) in neutrophils, which may be due to its ability to inhibit NF-κB activation. Maltol has also been shown to increase chemiluminescence in HLA-60 cells, which may be due to a decrease in reactive oxygen species or inhibition of phosphatases. Maltol has not been found to be toxic at doses up to 5000 mg/kg body weight, although it is not yet known if maltol is carcinogenic or mutagenic.Formula:C6H6O3Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:White PowderMolecular weight:126.11 g/mol3-Hydroxy-2-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one
