    Entacapone-d10 is a prodrug that is converted to the active form, entacapone, in the body by hydrolysis. Entacapone-d10 is used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and belongs to a class of drugs called catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors. Monitoring entacapone-d10 in urine enables one to assess its bioequivalence with other products containing entacapone. Entacapone-d10 has been shown to be an effective drug for Parkinson's disease with a favorable side effect profile. The nature and environment of this product are not known.
