    9-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridin-1-ol maleate is a cholinergic drug that has been shown to be significantly cytotoxic in vitro. It inhibits the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) by binding to its active site and inhibiting its function. This agent also inhibits the activity of dpp-iv at higher concentrations. 9-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridin-1-ol maleate is used as an analytical reagent for the determination of α1 acid glycoprotein in human serum. 9-Amino-1,2,3,4 tetrahydroacridin is a potent inhibitor of AChE with pharmacological properties that have been shown to inhibit the growth of cells in culture.
