Decyl octyl phthalate-d4 is a recyclable and biodegradable plasticizer that is made from renewable resources. It can be used as an additive for products such as calcium carbonate, polylactic acid, and polyvinyl chloride. Decyl octyl phthalate-d4 has been shown to be stable in different solvents, including water and organic solvents. This product also has the ability to optimize the mechanical properties of polyvinyl chloride by reducing its Young's modulus. The use of this additive in polyvinyl chloride can lead to a decrease in weight, thickness, and hardness. Decyl octyl phthalate-d4 is soluble in organic solvents, which makes it suitable for use with recycled plastics. Multiphase polymerization has also been demonstrated with decyl octyl phthalate-d4 at room temperature in aqueous solutions containing ammonium sulfamate as the solvent.
