2-(Methylthio)-9H-purin-6-amine
CAS:2-(Methylthio)-9H-purin-6-amine is a synthetic purine derivative that has been shown to have bacteriostatic effects on Streptococcus faecalis. This compound inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the ribosomes and inhibiting protein synthesis. 2-(Methylthio)-9H-purin-6-amine does not inhibit bacterial DNA synthesis, but does inhibit RNA synthesis in human cells. It binds with high affinity to the receptor for uridine, a component of RNA, and may be useful in the treatment of cancer or viral infections. 2-(Methylthio)-9H-purin-6-amine is a synthetic purine derivative that has been shown to have bacteriostatic effects on Streptococcus faecalis.
