Gadolinium(III) oxide, nanopowder, 99.99+% (REO)
CAS:Gadolinium(III) oxide is used as a raw material for various fluorescent compounds, absorption materials in atomic reactions, nuclear fuels, magnetic bubble material and screen-sensitivity increasing material. It is also used in glass and electronic industries. It also acts as a neutron shield, a catalyst, a dielectric ceramic and is used for filament coatings, special glasses, lasers, masers and telecommunication. It also serves as a laboratory reagent. It plays an important role as a potential contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.Formula:Gd2O3Purity:99.99+%Molecular weight:362.50Gadolinium(III) oxide
CAS:Gadolinium oxide is a paramagnetic, radioactive metal oxide that is used in MRI and other medical imaging techniques. It is a component of gadolinium-based contrast agents, which are injected into the body to enhance the visibility of certain tissues or organs during MRI scans. Gadolinium oxide has been shown to be toxic to cells in vitro and in vivo. This toxicity may be due to its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) and generate ROS in the process. The cytotoxicity of gadolinium oxide has also been observed when it is irradiated with near infrared light, generating ROS that induce oxidative stress.Formula:Gd2O3Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:White SolidMolecular weight:362.5 g/molRef: 3D-FG171782
