CAS:Tetrahydropyran-3-ylamine is a potent and selective inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV), an enzyme that plays an important role in the metabolism of proteins. Tetrahydropyran-3-ylamine is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and other metabolic disorders. This compound has been shown to inhibit DPP-IV activity in human plasma and in vitro, with IC50 values of 0.6 μM and 0.2 μM respectively. Tetrahydropyran-3-ylamine also inhibits the production of amyloid β peptides, which are associated with Alzheimer's disease. Tetrahydropyran-3-ylamine is orally active and stable at acidic pH levels, making it suitable for oral administration.
