CAS:4-Bromo-3-fluorophenol is a potent antiviral agent that inhibits the replication of hepatitis C virus. 4-Bromo-3-fluorophenol has been shown to inhibit the polymerase activity of replicon cells and the synthesis of viral RNA in vitro. It also inhibits the growth of Hepatitis B virus and HIV and is used as a surrogate for these viruses in toxicity studies. 4-Bromo-3-fluorophenol binds to both NS5B polymerase and enzyme complex, which prevents RNA synthesis by inhibiting the function of NS5A protein.
