Diltiazem-d4 hydrochloride is a potent and selective inhibitor of the human ether-a-go-go related gene (HERG) potassium channel. Diltiazem-d4 hydrochloride binds to the HERG channel and prevents it from being activated. This inhibition of the HERG channel leads to decreased cardiac contractility and reduced heart rate. Diltiazem-d4 hydrochloride is used in research as a tool to study protein interactions, activation, ligand binding, receptor binding, ion channels, and antibodies. The purity of diltiazem-d4 hydrochloride exceeds 99%.
