Galaxolide (Mixture of Diastereomers)
CAS:Controlled ProductStability Moisture sensitive Applications Galaxolide is a polycyclic musk (PCM) used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes, soaps, cosmetics and detergents. It is increasingly found in the Great Lakes. An assessment by Green-Screen for Safer Chemicals indicates that it is toxic to aquatic life. This compound is a contaminant of emerging concern (CECs). Not a dangerous good if item is equal to or less than 1g/ml and there is less than 100g/ml in the package References Mori, T. et al.: J. Health Sci., 52, 276 (2006); Chen Y., et al.: Flav. Frag. CAS:Galaxolide is a synthetic fragrance ingredient. It is a mixture of two isomers, alpha- and beta-galaxolide. Galaxolide has been shown to have antimicrobial properties and can be used in the treatment of wastewater. The analytical method for galaxolide includes dispersive solid phase extraction with benzalkonium chloride (BAC). The BAC forms an ionic complex with galaxolide that can then be extracted into organic solvent. Galaxolide also has high resistance to microbial degradation and can be used as an antimicrobial agent in cosmetics.Formula:C18H26OPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Clear LiquidMolecular weight:258.4 g/mol1,3,4,6,7,8-Hexahydro-4,6,6,7,8,8-hexamethylcyclopenta[g]-2-benzopyran
CAS:1,3,4,6,7,8-Hexahydro-4,6,6,7,8,8-hexamethylcyclopenta[g]-2-benzopyran is an antimicrobial agent that has been shown to have a broad spectrum of effectiveness against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is a water soluble molecule with a number of hydrophobic groups that allow it to penetrate the bacterial cell membrane and disrupt the cell wall. 1,3,4,6,7,8-Hexahydro-4,6,6,7,8,8-hexamethylcyclopenta[g]-2-benzopyran also possesses redox potentials that enable it to act as an antioxidant. This compound has been found to be effective in wastewater treatment by removing organic matter and nitrogen compounds.Formula:C18H26OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:258.4 g/molGalaxolide - Mixture of Diastereomers
CAS:Galaxolide is a mixture of diastereomers that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in wastewater treatment systems. It also has high resistance to oxidation and biological attack, which makes it an ideal candidate for use as an antimicrobial agent. Galaxolide exhibits strong inhibitory properties against bacterial membrane potentials and mitochondrial membrane potential, and displays antioxidant activity in vitro. The molecular docking analysis of galaxolide showed that it binds to the active site of triclosan-induced peroxidase. This binding inhibits the enzyme activity of this enzyme, which is responsible for oxidative injury in cells. The chemical structures of galaxolide have been determined using a variety of analytical methods, including dispersive solid-phase extraction with fluorescence detection.Formula:C18H26OPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Yellow PowderMolecular weight:258.4 g/molHHCB 10 µg/mL in Isooctane
