Sodium bismuth oxide, ACS, 80% min
CAS:Sodium bismuth oxide is used for the determination of manganese in iron, steel and ores. It is also used in the separation of plutonium and acts as a strong oxidizer. It is used in the conversion of manganese compound to permanganate. Further, it is used in the preparation of hexavalent americium (Am) during its separation from the lanthanides and in the hydrothermal synthesis of bismuth oxychloride micrometer-sized single crystals. In addition to this, it is employed as a precursor in the preparation of bismuth nanoforms. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. CAS:Sodium bismuthate is an inorganic compound that can be used as a reagent for the qualitative analysis of fatty acids. The reaction between sodium bismuthate and potassium dichromate produces a water vapor and an inorganic acid. The reaction solution is then heated to evaporate the water, leaving the remaining product, which consists of a linear calibration curve of absorbance vs. concentration. This method is more sensitive than other methods such as gas chromatography or mass spectrometry because it relies on only one chemical reaction. Sodium bismuthate has been shown to have excellent chemical stability in acidic solutions, making it ideal for use with fatty acids that are susceptible to hydrolysis.Formula:NaBiO3Purity:(Titration) Min. 80%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:279.97 g/molSodium bismuthate(V), 85%
