CAS:(1,5-Cyclooctadiene)dimethylplatinum(II) is a metal complex with an octahedral geometry. It is activated by sulfide ion, which has been shown to be reductive elimination in the regime of low temperature and high pressure. The reaction is mechanistically classified as a ligand substitution mechanism. The activation energy for the reaction is reported to be 20 kcalmol, which is thermally activated. Thermodynamic data indicates that the analogously substituted platinum complexes are kinetically inert. Kinetic experiments were conducted using isotopically labeled platinum complexes, yielding kinetic data analogous to those obtained using natural isotopic abundances.Formula:C10H18PtPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:333.33 g/mol
