CAS:Ethylhexadecyldimethylammonium bromide is a cationic surfactant that is used in tissue culture to reduce the surface tension of water and improve the growth of cells. Ethylhexadecyldimethylammonium bromide has been shown to have minimal toxicity, especially for biological samples and physiological effects. It has also been shown to have in vitro antifungal activity against Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, and other fungi. The antimicrobial effect of ethylhexadecyldimethylammonium bromide is due to its ability to form an acid complex with malonic acid and benzalkonium chloride. This complex disrupts the cell membrane by binding to it and altering its permeability. The kinetic energy of this complex is lower than that of benzalkonium chloride alone, so it takes longer for the antimicrobial activity of ethylhexadecyldimethylammoniumFormula:C20H44BrNPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:378.47 g/molRef: 3D-FE75526
