R-(+)-Etomoxir
CAS:Etomoxir is a potent inhibitor of the mitochondrial enzyme, fatty acid: 2-enoyl-CoA reductase. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of long-chain acyl-CoA to acetyl-CoA, which is required for the synthesis of mitochondrial membrane phospholipids and cardiolipin. Etomoxir inhibits this activity and consequently prevents the production of ATP. It also inhibits oxidative phosphorylation in isolated mitochondria and reduces locomotor activity in rats. Etomoxir has been shown to have inhibitory properties on human malignant brain cells as well as breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231).Formula:C17H23ClO4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:326.81 g/molRef: 3D-FE23200

CAS:Controlled ProductApplications An inhibitor of carnitine palmitoyltransferase A (CPT1), which is required for the oexidation of long-chain acyl CoA esters. A strong inhibitor of mitochondrial CPT1 and is a candidate as an anti-diabetic drug. Not a dangerous good if item is equal to or less than 1g/ml and there is less than 100g/ml in the package References Crilley, M.M.L., et al.: Tetrahedron Letters, 30, 7, 885 (1989),Formula:C17H23ClO4Color and Shape:NeatMolecular weight:326.82
