17:0-20:4 Pi (3,5) P2 is a phospholipid with pharmacological properties. It is a potent activator of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. This peptide binds to the alpha subunit of the acetylcholine receptor and causes the channel to open more quickly, leading to an increased influx of calcium ions. 17:0-20:4 Pi (3,5) P2 is also an inhibitor of ion channels. This molecule has been shown to inhibit voltage-gated potassium channels and L type calcium channel currents in neurons.
