CU-CPT-8m is a small molecule that has been shown to inhibit the activation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and TLR2 in monocytes, glomerular inflammation, and renal inflammation. CU-CPT-8m also inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, such as IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, and TNFα. CU-CPT-8m has been shown to be both safe and effective in preclinical models of chronic kidney diseases in animal models. CU-CPT-8m may be a promising new option for the treatment of inflammatory kidney diseases.
