N2'-(trans-4-Aminocyclohexyl)-5'-chloro-N6-[(3-fluorophenyl)methyl]-[2,4'-bipyridine]-2',6-diamine is a novel drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It inhibits the tyrosine kinase activity of antigen receptors on cancer cells and stimulates their apoptosis. N2'-(trans-4-Aminocyclohexyl)-5'-chloro-N6-[(3-fluorophenyl)methyl]-[2,4'-bipyridine]-2',6-diamine also synergistically induces apoptosis in leukemia cells with chemotherapy drugs such as 5-fluorouracil. This drug has been shown to be active against herpes simplex virus in vitro and in animal models.
