In addition, ±-iso-Methylionone has been shown to inhibit radiation induced DNA damage in cells. This chemical is stable under alkaline conditions, but not acidic conditions. A study using Sprague Dawley rats found that ±-iso-Methylionone was absorbed through the skin after topical administration.
