(1R,2R)-2-Fluorocyclopropanecarboxylic acid is produced by the racemization of cyclopropane-carboxylic acid with formaldehyde. Sitafloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, which maintain bacterial cell integrity and inhibit protein synthesis.
