CAS:(S)-4-Chloro-3-hydroxybutyronitrile (CHB) is a synthetic chemical that is used as a feedstock in the manufacture of pleuromutilin derivatives. CHB has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of bacterial growth, with a wide range of activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This chemical can be prepared from chloropropane and sodium hydroxide in two steps with a yield of about 73%. Stereoselective synthesis was carried out using microcapsules to produce (S)-4-chloro-3-hydroxybutyronitrile. This process is economical and environmentally friendly because it does not require the use of hazardous reagents such as hydrogen chloride gas or sodium hydroxide solution.Formula:C4H6ClNOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:119.55 g/molRef: 3D-FC39135
