4,5-Diaminophthalonitrile
CAS:4,5-Diaminophthalonitrile is an unsymmetrical diamine that is used in the synthesis of azo dyes. This compound can be synthesized by reacting a nitrile with formaldehyde and ammonia. The optical properties of this compound are dependent on the pH of the solution. At low pH values, 4,5-diaminophthalonitrile exhibits a yellow coloration while at high pH values it is blue. The chloride ion has an effect on the color of this compound as well. In addition to its use in dye synthesis, 4,5-diaminophthalonitrile can be used for analytical purposes such as monitoring nitrite levels in water samples due to its ability to react with nitrite ions to form a red-colored product. It also has immobilization properties and can be used for microscopy techniques when it is coupled with metal salts.Formula:C8H6N4Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:158.16 g/molRef: 3D-FD43553
