CAS:Magnesium oxide light is a synthetic material that is used as a cross-linking agent, growth factor, and chloride transfer. It is synthesized by the reaction of magnesium salt with zirconium oxide in an inert atmosphere. Magnesium oxide light has been shown to be effective for wastewater treatment using chlorine gas and sodium carbonate. Magnesium oxide light has also been used as a polymer film activator for polymers with hydroxypropyl methyl groups. It has shown to have good light emission properties, which can be activated by heat or electron irradiation. This activation increases the surface area of the particles and facilitates adsorption of various chemical species. Magnesium oxide has also been shown to have a protective effect on enzymes such as urease and amylase. This protection may be due to its ability to inhibit the hydrolysis of urea into ammonia and carbamate and the degradation of starch by alpha-amylase.
