Nickel(III) oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NiO. It is a black solid that is insoluble in water and stable in air. Nickel oxide can be used as a catalyst for wastewater treatment, with its high chemical stability and low toxicity. Nickel oxide has been used as a model system for studying the mechanism of polymerase chain reactions (PCR).
