It has been synthesized from the reaction of amines with trisubstituted trifluoromethyl compounds, and can be used as a reducing agent for nitro groups, fluoroalkyl groups, alkene groups, and cyclic molecules. This agent is also useful for introducing the trifluoromethyl group to various other compounds.
